I believe that some carriers renegotiate in 2020 and some in 2022.
The details here are scarce. We know there is a cable channel beginning in 2019. Does ESPN own the channel outright? Does the ACC have an ownership share? How would the ACC pay for its share? How will the conference be paid, otherwise?
I am disappointed that the ACC is married to that one exclusive media company for an additional ten years. Competitive bids are the way to get maximum value. Has the B1G not clearly demonstrated this?
I'll keep an open mind and watch for positive signs. Sign number one: There really will be a cable channel.
